About Me

One of the better pictures of me actually!
Welcome to TheatreProf.com. I’m a professor at a Community College in the Midwest. I teach primarily speech and theatre courses, with a little media thrown in for fun. I teach a lot of online courses. I am a technophile, an apple fangirl, and a blogoholic. Why is this important? Because that is what I do most days, think a lot about, and write about.
I get my ideas and information from a lot of different sources. Sure a lot of it comes from where I teach and interact with student and colleagues every day, but I would say just as much comes from opinions I find on twitter, educator blogs, in The Chronicle, and on forums. That doesn’t even begin to account for conferences and networking with colleagues who are out teaching at other colleges and universities.
It is important to note at this point that I have strong opinions (I hope you do too) but they are my own. They don’t always align with mainstream thought-pool. Sometimes they turn out to be dead-wrong, but that’s part of thinking, isn’t it? But most importantly, they are not the opinions of anyone I might work for, or hang out with, or anyone I went to second grade with.
Additionally, I am interested in what you think. Yes all of you. About everything. Especially about the things that are taking up a lot of my mental circuits. Right now, that is teaching and learning. All of it.

I love your blog! You have some fantastic ideas about using technology in the classroom, and are able to articulate those ideas in way that is entertaining to read. Great job!
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback.
